• Gently stretch the penis upward to straighten the urethra and slowly insert the stem of the applicator into the penis. This should not hurt; if it does, remove the applicator and try again.
• Once inserted, press the button on top of the applicator and hold it there for 5 seconds.
• Very gently rock the applicator back and forth to detach the pellet from the applicator tip.
• Remove the applicator and gently massage the penis for at least 10 seconds.
• Some men experience a slight burning sensation from the medication; continuing to massage the penis will help the medication be absorbed and soothe the burning.

After MUSE has been applied, results will be best if sitting, standing or walking until an erection develops; laying down will make it more difficult for blood to flow to the penis.

Precautions

For the most part MUSE is a very safe medication; however, as with any drug, patients with preexisting conditions should use extra caution. In particular men who have low blood pressure, or are taking medication to lower blood pressure, may experience serious side effects from this product.

MUSE should not be used by men who have blood clotting disorders, a current or history of bladder or urethra infections, or any infection of the penis.

Men who have penile implants, physical abnormalities of the penis or urethra, or scarring of the urethra should discuss potential risks with a doctor before use.
